Check email iconHeads up! If you're having issues getting into your account, check for an email from Pinterest and use the link in that email to verify your age.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pinterest. We ask for age-related information, like your birthday, to personalize your Pinterest experience, ads and recommendations, and to help provide a better experience in our community. We do not share your birthdate with third parties or others on Pinterest.

You'll need to verify your birthday if:

  • The age on your account is currently listed as under 18 years old and you'd like to change it.
  • Your account is deactivated because you haven’t met the age requirement. If you believe there’s a mistake, you can submit an appeal from the deactivation email.
  • If you're having trouble with the verification process or your appeal link expired, contact us at privacy-support [at] pinterest.com (privacy-support[at]pinterest[dot]com).

No. We require all users to go through a verification process with our trusted third party partner to have their accounts reviewed for reactivation. Please do not send any sensitive documents, such as your government ID or birth certificate, to Pinterest directly. We cannot process your age verification through our support emails or contact form. If we need to verify your age, you’ll receive a link where you can securely upload your documents.

Our verification partner regularly conducts routine audits to ensure compliance with privacy best practices and standards.

It may take up to one business day to verify your age. We’ll send you an email to let you know the outcome once it’s been processed.

To verify your age, you can either choose to take a photo of your government ID and a selfie, or only take a selfie. Keep in mind that you’ll need to allow access to your camera because you can’t upload a photo of yourself or your ID from your camera roll.

    Tips for submitting your verification:

    • Avoid using flash on your device as it may leave whiteout areas.
    • Don’t use filters on your photos. It may look as though you’ve tampered with your documents or that your age isn’t accurately represented.
    • Make sure that all photos are in focus.
    • Preview the photos before you send them to be sure you’ve fully captured and can clearly read all the information on the document.
    • Only photos taken at the time of verification are accepted as it allows our verification partner to confirm that the documents are in your possession.

We’ll send you an email once your appeal has been processed. If the appeal was accepted, your account will be reactivated. The next time you open Pinterest, you’ll be asked to enter your birthday again to confirm your age and then you can log back in.

We’ll send you an email once your appeal has been processed. If your appeal is not accepted, your account will remain deactivated. If you believe this is an error, you can email privacy-support@pinterest.com to request a new link to appeal.
