The bulk editor is a tool that helps you create and manage thousands of Pinterest ad campaigns at once. To get started, download a CSV file template, input the data for your campaigns, and upload the spreadsheet to the bulk editor to make all of your changes at once.

Format your bulk editor sheet

It’s important that you correctly set up your bulk editor spreadsheet otherwise your upload may fail. As you work, make sure your bulk editor spreadsheet follows the below parameters.

Note: The CSV file can only be downloaded in English and the uploaded values must also be in English. We can’t accept other languages at this time.

  • Don’t edit rows 1 and 2. Rows 1 and 2 in every bulk sheet are reference rows that include a description of the columns, eligible parameters and special formatting required for each entry.
  • Save your .CSV file as a CSV UTF-8 file to ensure that all values in the template are properly formatted.
  • Enter an action in column A for every row. If there’s no action specified, the row will be ignored when the bulk editor sheet is uploaded.
  • Enter campaign dates with brackets as [YY-MM-DD] to prevent the date from reformatting.
  • To remove the values for spend caps and ad group end dates, replace the existing values with CLEAR.
    • Set the status on new objects to “ACTIVE” if you’re ready for them to go live. Your ads will still have to go through ad review.
    • To create multiple Pins in a campaign, copy and paste the same campaign and ad group info for all Pins within that campaign.

Note: Budgets and bids will run in your account currency. For example, if your business is in the US, you’ll be charged in USD.

To add new keywords, add a row for each keyword and add “Create” as the action in column A.

You can assign keyword-level bids. If this is left blank, we’ll use the bid set at the ad group level. Other targeting details, such as interests, devices and genders, are still defined at the ad group level.

If you're adding keywords to an existing ad group, make sure you specify the ad group ID.

For any comma-separated lists (e.g. interests, keywords, locations), please enclose your lists with brackets. For example, interests: [exotic pets, insects, mammals, cute animals] or locations: [662,525,124522,826047]

For a complete list of targeting codes, download each of the respective sheets:

Please refer to our targeting guidelines to ensure that your ad campaign doesn't violate our targeting policies.
