You can create your own Pins by uploading images or videos from your computer or mobile device. Plus, with the Pinterest camera tools available in the app, you can record live videos and take new photos, too.

In addition to creating Pins from your own images and videos, you can save images you find online as Pins.
  1. Log in to your Pinterest account.
  2. Click Create in the top left-hand corner of your screen.
    • If you have a business account, select Create and then Create Pin from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click Create new or select one of your drafts.
  4. Click  to select an image from your computer (or drag and drop into the upload window). 
    • You can select up to ten images. Each image will create a new Pin.
    • To combine multiple images and videos in one video Pin, create a Pin with the Pinterest app. 
  5. Add some information about your Pin:
    • Title: Enter a title for your Pin. 
    • Description: Write a description of your Pin. 
    • Link: If you have one, add a link to give people on Pinterest a place to learn more. 
    • Board: If you’d like to add your Pin to a board, choose one from the drop-down menu or click Create board to create a new one. 
    • Tag related topics: You can add up to ten related topics to help people searching for similar ideas to find your Pin.
    • Publish later: If you have a business account, you’ll see the option to Publish at a later date (you can schedule up to 30 days in advance). 
    • Advanced settings: Select More options to turn comments and shopping recommendations on or off. 
  6. Click  in the top right-hand corner of your image or video to edit your content (you can add text, change the aspect ratio and more). 
  7. Click Done to finish editing.
  8. Click Publish.
  1. Log in to your Pinterest account.
  2. Click Create in the top left-hand corner of your screen.

  9. Tap Create.
Publish a draft

You can save a Pin as a draft if you’re not quite ready to publish it yet. To publish a draft, follow the steps to create a Pin, and instead of selecting a new image or video, look under your Pin drafts or select  on the Pinterest app to go to your drafts folder.

Here are a few key things you should know about drafts:

  • You need at least 100 MB of storage space available on your mobile device to create a new draft.
  • You can save up to 50 drafts on your desktop.
  • Drafts expire 30 days after you've first stored them. After 30 days, you will be unable to retrieve them.
  • You cannot edit drafts across different devices. If you start creating a Pin on your phone using the Pinterest app, you need to finish creating it there.

    Allow downloads and sharing

    You can choose whether people on Pinterest can download your full-screen video Pins. If you turn on the download option, your full-screen video Pins can be downloaded and a watermark of your username will appear at the bottom.

    Note: This setting only applies to full-screen (or 9:16) video Pins. Learn more about how to download images.
    1. Log in to your Pinterest account.
    2. Click in the top right-hand corner to open your menu.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Select Social permissions.
    5. Toggle the switch next to Video Pin downloads to turn the option on or off.
    6. Click Save.

    This will apply to all your published, full-screen video pins.

    3. Tap in the top right-hand corner.
    4. Tap Settings.
    5. Select Social permissions.
    6. Toggle the switch next to Video Pin downloads to turn the option on or off.
