We'll sometimes show you ads or other recommendations based on your activity on Pinterest.

We base these recommendations on things like the Pins you save or the topics you follow. If your settings allow, we may also use information from our ad partners and other sites you have visited recently to recommend things to you. For example, if you visit a lot of food blogs, we might show you more recipe Pins.

You can adjust which info we use to show you ads and other recommendations in your settings by following the instructions below.

Edit personalisation settings
  • Log in to your Pinterest account
  • Click  the directional chevron down icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen
  • Click Settings
  • Click Privacy and data
  • Tick or untick:
    • Use sites that you visit to improve which recommendations and ads that you see on Pinterest
    • Use partner info to improve which recommendations and ads you see on Pinterest
    • Use your activity to improve the ads you see about Pinterest on other sites or apps you visit
  • Click Save
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log in to your Pinterest account
  • Tap your profile picture in the bottom right to open your profile
  • Tap  the ellipsis icon  in the top right-hand corner of the screen
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Privacy and data
  • Toggle the switches next to:
    • Use sites you visit to improve recommendations and ads
    • Use partner info to improve recommendations and ads
    • Use your activity to improve ads about Pinterest
  • Your changes will be saved automatically.

  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log in to your Pinterest account
  • Tap your profile picture in the bottom right of your screen to open your profile
  • Tap  the ellipsis icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Privacy and data
