View Idea Pins
Idea Pins appear in your Pinterest home feed or in other places in the Pinterest app. You’ll recognise them by the the story Pin icon to the top left of the Pin.
An Idea Pin gives you all the information you need to make a recipe, craft or try a creator’s idea. Tap into an Idea Pin from your home feed and tap through the pages to get creative. Some Idea Pins have shoppable tags that you can use to shop for products.
Idea Pins are made up of up to 20 pages of videos, images and text. You cannot save individual pages from within an Idea Pin to your boards, however you can save an entire Idea Pin to your boards. You can also add comments, reactions or takes to an Idea Pin.
View captions on Idea Pins
Closed captions are lines of text that describe a video’s audio. Viewers can choose to enable or disable closed captions.
Closed captioning on selected Idea Pins is currently available to selected users on Android. Captions are auto-generated and cannot be edited or customised by the creator.
Please note that variances in background noise, pronunciation, accents and dialects may lead to speech being misrepresented in automatically generated captions.
To view captions on Idea Pins, click the ellipsis icon in the top right-hand corner of the Pin and click the toggle switch next to Show captions. Once you’ve enabled Show captions, captions will appear automatically on other Idea Pins, where available.
To disable captions, click the ellipsis icon in the top right-hand corner of the Pin and click on the toggle switch next to Show captions.
View the Idea Pins following stream
The Idea Pins following stream is a way to view Idea Pins from creators you follow and discover new creators at the top of your home feed in the Pinterest app. It is currently available to select people. If a creator has recently published more than one Idea Pin, you’ll see a number on their profile picture. To view an Idea Pin, tap on a person's profile picture. To see more recently published Idea Pins in the stream, scroll vertically.
To see new Idea Pins from creators you do not follow yet, tap Discover creators at the top of your home feed. If you like a creator's content, you can save an Idea Pin or follow the creator.
If you’ve already viewed a creator’s recent Idea Pins from the following stream, you can tap their profile picture at the top of your home feed to view their profile.
Share your Idea Pin takes
A take is an Idea Pin that is created in response to another Idea Pin. Takes appear as responses to the original Idea Pin and can also be seen in your home feed, from people you follow or on your profile.
We're currently in the process of rolling out Idea Pin takes. As a result, this feature is only available to selected users for selected Idea Pins.
To add your take to an Idea Pin, in the bottom left-hand corner of the Pin, tap the rectangle with a plus icon, then create your own Idea Pin to show how you were inspired.
