Some Pins on Pinterest have alternative text to provide audible descriptions of what people can see in the Pin. Turn on a screen reader on your desktop or mobile device to use alternative text.

On Mac:

  • Click the apple icon in the top left-hand corner
  • Select System Preferences
  • Click Accessibility
  • Select VoiceOver from the left navigation
  • Check the box next to Enable VoiceOver
  • On Windows 10:

  • On your keyboard, hold the Windows logo key, the Ctrl key and the Enter key together
  • Click Ease of Access in the bottom-right corner, then turn on Narrator
  • Go to your Windows Settings
  • Click Ease of Access, then turn on Use Narrator
  • Press both volume keys on your mobile device for a few seconds. To confirm that you want to turn on TalkBack, select Turn on or press both volume keys again for a few seconds. You can also turn on TalkBack from your device’s settings:

  • Open your device’s Settings
  • Tap Accessibility, then tap TalkBack
  • Tap Use TalkBack
  • Tap OK
  • If you have Siri turned on, say “Hey Siri”, then say “Turn on VoiceOver”. You can also turn VoiceOver on from your device’s settings:

  • Go to your device’s Settings
  • Tap Accessibility
  • Tap VoiceOver
  • Turn on VoiceOver
