To help you reach the right audience, you can now choose to target people in a specific age range when creating an ad.

Target specific age ranges

  1. In Ads Manager, begin by creating an ad

  2. In the 'Targeting' section, scroll down until you find the 'Ages' section

  3. Select All ages to target your ad to people of all ages, or click Pick specific ages to specify

  4. If you want to specify, select the age ranges you'd like to show your ad to

  5. Fill in the rest of your ad details and click Launch

We offer 8 pre-defined age ranges, so you should select the range that best represents your intended audience.

Add age targeting in Ads Manager

  1. Log into your Pinterest business account
  2. Click Ads at the top of the screen, then click Create ad
  3. Click New ad group from the left-side navigation
  4. Click Targeting from the left-side navigation
  5. Scroll down to Ages
  6. Select the age group you want to target
    1. Click All ages to target everyone
    2. Click Pick specific ages to select a specific age range
    3. Click 21+ to target people who are aged 21 years old and above
  7. Once complete, select your Budget & Schedule, Optimization & delivery and Ads
  8. Review your information
  9. Click Launch

Add age targeting in Bulk editor

  1. Log into your Pinterest business account
  2. Click Ads at the top of the screen, then click Bulk editor
  3. Click Download sample sheet to download a sample spreadsheet
  4. Fill out column AM, AgeBuckets
    1. Enter ALL to target everyone
    2. Enter specific age ranges separated by commas in this format [18-24,25-34,35-44,21+] to target specific ages
  5. Once complete, click Upload template to upload your bulk editor sheet
  6. Click Upload

Ad review process

Once you launch your campaign, we’ll review it to make sure it follows our Advertising guidelines. The campaign review process can take up to 24 hours. 

If your campaign targeting goes against our advertising guidelines, we’ll send you a notification in Ads Manager letting you know what needs to change so that your ad can be reviewed again for approval. Once approved, we’ll start distributing your ad.
