Automated campaigns automate the ad campaign creation process by combining an advertiser's goals with Pinterest best practice recommendations to help you deliver results with less manual work.

With automated campaigns, you input:

  • Campaign goal
  • Age or location targeting requirements 
  • Campaign daily budget
  • Ads
  • Bidding and any additional targeting, outside of age and location requirements, are completely automated based on the Pins you select and Pinner behaviour. 

    To get started: 

  • Click Create campaign 
  • Select Automated campaign 
  • Select your goal for the campaign
  • Select your Pins
    1. Pins that previously delivered high CTRs will be highlighted here
    2. We recommend selecting at least four Pins where possible. 
    3. If you’d like to upload a new creative, you can also do that in this section. 
  • Input any age restriction requirements
  • Input any location targeting requirements
  • Select a daily budget or input your own. 
    1. You can also add a campaign duration. We recommend letting the campaign run for at least ten days for optimal results. 
  • Review your campaign settings. If everything looks good, select Publish to launch your campaign
  • Limitations

    Automated campaigns use automatic bidding which aims to help you get the most results at the lowest-possible cost per result, while also spending your budget. If you want to be able to set a manual bid, choose the manual campaign creation option. 

    Automated campaigns will automatically default to targeting all genders and devices to help your ad get the most reach. If you want to refine this targeting, choose the manual campaign creation option.
