If you’ve created a Pin that features a scene, such as a kitchen or someone wearing an outfit, you can tag it with up to eight products from your claimed website. For example, if your Pin showcases a living room that features many of your products, such as curtains, armchairs or tables, you can tag these specific products to make it easier for people on Pinterest to shop for the exact items they see in your Pin. If you do not have a claimed website, you can still tag other merchants’ products in your Pins.

If you’d like to showcase related products to create a collections Pin instead, you can add up to 25 related products from your product catalogue or claimed website. These related products will not show up in your Pin, but will be surfaced below your Pin. You can then promote it as a collections ad for people on Pinterest to browse.

Note: Product tags are not available on ads. If you promote a Pin that has tagged products in it, it will be converted to a collections ad and the previously tagged products will show up below the product Pin.
  1. Log in to your Pinterest account and create a pin
  2. Click  to select an image from your computer, or drag and drop an image into the uploader
  3. Add a title, description, alt text and your claimed website as the destination link
  4. Click anywhere on the image to add a product tag
  5. Type your product title, product URL in the search bar below Tag this product to find the relevant product
    • Click Find a product by catalogue ID instead below the search bar to find the product using its catalogue ID
  6. Select the product you want to tag the image with 
  7. Repeat steps 5-7 to tag additional products
  8. Once complete, select Publish now or Publish later depending when you want the Pin published
  9. Click  next to Publish in the top right to select which board to save it to, then click Publish
  1. Log in to your Pinterest business account
  2. Click one of your Pins to open it
  3. Click Tag products next to the Pin
  4. Click where you want to tag your Pin
  5. Type your product title, product URL in the search bar below Tag this product to find the relevant product
    • Click Find a product by catalogue ID instead below the search bar to find the product using its catalogue ID
  6. Click the product you want to select
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 to select up to eight products 
  8. Click Done

You can create collections Pins with a business account. 

  1. Log in to your Pinterest account and create a Pin
  2. Click Create at the top left of your screen, then click Create Pin for ad
  3. Click  to select an image from your computer, or drag and drop an image into the uploader
  4. Add a title, description, alt text and your claimed website as the destination link
  5. Click Make a collection at the bottom of your screen
  6. Type your product title, product URL in the search bar below Tag this product to find the relevant product
    • Click Find a product by catalogue ID instead below the search bar to find the product using its catalogue ID
  7. Select up to 24 products that you want to add at the bottom of the Pin, then click Add products
  8. Once complete, click  next to Publish in the top right to select which board to save it to, then click Publish
