You can add tracking to your collections ads to analyse their effectiveness. Tracking parameters are supported for both the hero creative and secondary creatives of manually created customised collections ads and automatically created personalised collections ads. You can set them up in Ads Manager and the bulk editor.

If you haven’t created a collections ad yet, we recommend starting with our guide Create a collections ad.

Available destination URL and tracking parameters

See destination URL and tracking parameters for manually created customised collections ads and automatically created personalised collections ads.

These tracking parameters apply to customised collections ads created manually with Pin builder, not using the catalogue sales objective.

Hero creative

Destination URL

The destination URL will be applied to the hero creative and the scroll-up destination URL.

The destination URL must match your claimed domain.

Tracking parameters

Manually created custom collection ads support all the same dynamic parameters as standard ads.

You can find the complete list of supported dynamic parameters under 'Supported dynamic parameters for standard ad destination URLs'.

Secondary creatives

Destination URL

When a destination URL isn’t provided, the destination URL will default to what was set during the creation of the collections Pin.

If you want to add tracking to a destination URL, you can either add a URL prefix (ex: http://www.pinterest.com/) or enter {organic_url} which will resolve to the destination URL entered during Pin creation. Dynamic parameters can be added after this. Ex: {organic_url}?campaignid={campaignid}

Note that tracking parameters alone aren’t valid input. Either a full URL or {organic_url} must be provided to set the secondary creative’s destination URL.
