Age requirements for using Pinterest

Minimum age requirement

You need to be at least 13 to use Pinterest. We do our best to describe how Pinterest works as clearly as possible, but some concepts in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service aren’t easy to explain to children. We want everyone who uses Pinterest to understand what they’re consenting to, so we won’t allow anyone under 13 to create a Pinterest account.

In some countries, such as the Member States of the European Union, the consent of a parent or guardian is required for teens age 13-16 to use Pinterest. If you are under the age required by your country and do not have parental consent to use Pinterest, you won’t be able to use Pinterest.

For teens requiring parental consent

We’ll ask for your parent or guardian’s contact info when you sign up. If your parent or guardian consents to you using Pinterest, we’ll send you an email to let you know.

For parents of teens requiring parental consent

When your teen signs up for a Pinterest account, we’ll request your approval before letting them use their Pinterest account.

We’ll send you an email to ask for consent for your teen to use Pinterest. If you want to consent, follow the steps in the email. If you do not want your teen to use Pinterest, you can ignore the email.

If you have given consent for your child to use Pinterest, you can contact us to withdraw that consent at any time.

If you want to learn more about Pinterest, check out our Guide to Pinterest. We also recommend reviewing our Community Guidelines to learn more about the type of content we allow on Pinterest.
