You can create your own Pins by uploading images or videos from your computer, tablet or mobile device. Plus, with the Pinterest camera tools available in the app, you can record live videos and take new photos too.

In addition to creating Pins from your own images and videos, you can save images you find online as Pins.

  • Log in to your Pinterest account.
  • Click Create at the top-left of your screen.
    • If you have a business account, select the hamburger icon . Under Create, select Create Pin.
  • Click  the arrow circle up icon to select an image from your computer (or drag and drop into the upload window). 
    • You can select up to 10 images. Each image will create a new Pin.
    • To combine multiple images and videos in one video Pin, create a Pin with the Pinterest app. 
  • Add some information about your Pin:
    • Title: Enter a title for your Pin. 
    • Description: Write a description of your Pin. 
    • Link: If you have one, add a link to give people on Pinterest a place to learn more. 
    • Board: If you’d like to add your Pin to a board, choose one from the drop-down menu or click Create board to create a new one. 
    • Tag related topics: You can add up to 10 related topics to help people searching for similar ideas find your Pin.
    • Publish later: If you have a business account, you’ll see the option to Publish at a later date (you can schedule up to 30 days in advance). 
    • Advanced settings: Select More options to turn comments and shopping recommendations on or off. 
  • Click  the pencil icon at the top-right corner of your image or video to edit your content (you can add text, change the aspect ratio and more). 
  • Click Done to finish editing.
  • Click Publish.
  • Log in to your Pinterest account.
  • Click Create at the top-left of your screen.
    • If you have a business account, select the hamburger icon . Under Create, select Create Pin.
  • Click  the arrow circle up icon to select a video from your computer (or drag and drop into the upload window). 
    • You can select up to 10 videos. Each video will create a new Pin.

    • Cover: Select Edit cover to choose a thumbnail for your video.
    • Title: Enter a title for your Pin. 
    • Description: Write a description of your Pin.

    • Board: If you’d like to add your Pin to a board, choose one from the drop-down menu or click Create board to create a new one. 
    • Tag related topics: You can add up to 10 related topics to help people searching for similar ideas find your Pin.

  • Tap Pin.

    • Tap  the camera icon  to take a new photo. 
    • If you select multiple images and videos, they'll be stitched together into a single video Pin.
  • Tap Next.

  • Tap Pin.

  • Tap Create.
  • Publish a draft

    You can save a Pin as a draft if you’re not quite ready to publish it yet. Here are a few key things to know about drafts:

  • Drafts expire 30 days after you've first stored them. After 30 days, you will be unable to retrieve them.
  • You cannot edit drafts across different devices. If you start creating a Pin on your phone using the Pinterest app, you need to finish creating it there.
  • If you want to publish multiple Pin drafts at the same time, use a desktop device. You can save up to 50 drafts on your desktop and can publish them all at once.
  • You need at least 100 MB of storage space available on your mobile device to create a new draft.
  • Log in to your Pinterest account.
  • Click Create at the top-left of your screen.
    • If you have a business account, select the hamburger icon . Under Create, select Create Pin.
  • Under Pin drafts, select a saved draft you want to publish. 
    • To publish more than one draft, click Select all or select drafts individually using the checkbox. 
    • Move your cursor to the right side of the draft and click the ellipsis icon  to duplicate a Pin.
    • You can also select unwanted drafts and click the trashcan icon to delete them.
  • Click  the pencil icon  to continue editing the drafts you selected.
  • When you’re ready, click Publish
  • Log in to your Pinterest account on the Pinterest app.
  • Tap the add icon at the bottom of your screen.
  • Tap Pin.
  • Tap the folder icon at the bottom-right of your screen.
  • Select the Pin draft you want to publish or tap the trashcan icon to delete an unwanted draft.
  • Continue editing your Pin and tap Create when you’re ready to publish.
    • You can also tap the folder icon to keep your Pin saved as a draft.
  • Log in to your Pinterest account on the Pinterest app.
  • Tap the add icon at the bottom of your screen.
  • Tap Pin.
  • Tap the folder icon at the bottom-right of your screen.
  • Select the Pin draft you want to publish or tap the trashcan icon to delete an unwanted draft.
  • Continue editing your Pin and tap Create when you’re ready to publish. You can also:
    • Tap the folder icon to keep your Pin saved as a draft.
    • Tap the download icon to save the image or video to your device.
  • Allow downloads and sharing

    You can choose whether people on Pinterest can download your full-screen video Pins. If you turn on the download option, your full-screen video Pins can be downloaded and a watermark of your username will appear at the bottom.

    Note: This setting only applies to full-screen (or 9:16) video Pins. Learn more about how to download images.

  • Log in to your Pinterest account.
  • Click the directional chevron down icon at the top-right corner to open your menu.
  • Click Settings.
  • Select Social permissions.
  • Toggle the switch next to Video Pin downloads to turn the option on or off.
  • Click Save.
  • This will apply to all your published, full-screen video pins.

  • Log in to your Pinterest account on the Pinterest app.
  • Tap your profile picture at the bottom-right corner.
  • Then tap your profile photo at the top-left of your screen.
  • Select Social permissions.
  • Toggle the switch next to Video Pin downloads to turn the option on or off.
  • This will apply to all your published, full-screen video pins.

    Note: If you have a business account, you can access your settings by logging in to your Pinterest account, tapping your profile photo at the bottom-right of the screen and then tapping  the ellipsis icon at the top-right corner.

  • Log in to your Pinterest account on the Pinterest app.
  • Tap your profile picture at the bottom-right corner.
  • Then tap your profile photo at the top-left of your screen.
  • Select Social permissions and activity
  • Toggle the switch next to Video Pin downloads to turn the option on or off.
  • This will apply to all your published, full-screen video pins.

    Note: If you have a business account, you can access your settings by logging in to your Pinterest account, tapping your profile photo at the bottom-right of the screen and then tapping  the ellipsis icon the ellipsis icon  at the top-right corner.
