Anyone who owns copyright to content can apply for access to the Content Claiming Portal to claim their content and control how it appears on Pinterest. Once a rights holder uploads a particular image, they can tell us whether they want to allow that image to appear on Pinterest. If they choose to block the image, we will remove any matching images that we are able to identify.

At this time, we’re only able to give a limited number of rights holders access to the Content Claiming Portal. We determine who gets access based on the information provided in your application. We’re working to expand access to more rights holders over time. If your application is rejected, you’ll be able to reapply in 30 days.
If your application is approved, you’ll receive an email with a link to the Content Claiming Portal. You can also access the portal by following these steps on the website:
Once your application is approved, you’ll be able to begin uploading your content.
To get started, follow these steps:
There’s no limit on how much content you can claim in total, but you can upload up to 50 works to the portal at a time. We currently only support images, but we may expand to additional file types in the future.
Don’t claim rights to content you don’t own. When you start a claim, select what sort of action you’d like us to take.
Once you have submitted your claim, you can check the status of it in the portal. Here’s an explanation of each of the statuses you may see:
Processing | We’re processing your claim. This can take up to 24 hours and there is no action required of you. |
---|---|
Active | We’ve processed your claim and applied your selected enforcement. There is no action required of you. |
Conflict | This means another party is claiming the same content as you. If your original claim was invalid or mistaken, you can discard your claim. If you believe your claim is valid, you can dispute the other party’s claim. When another party disputes one of your existing claims, you’ll have 7 days to respond, otherwise your claim will be discarded. |
Wait | If you’ve disputed another party’s claim, the other party will have 7 days to discard their claim or dispute your claim. If they have not responded within 7 days, their claim will be discarded and your claim will become active. |
Proof required | There is a dispute with another party on your claim. Your claim will remain inactive until one of the conflicting parties submits a valid court order establishing their rights or ownership of the content. |
If another user submits a claim for content that you’ve already claimed, this will create a conflict in our system. Once we receive a claim from another user, you’ll be notified and you’ll have 7 days to confirm whether you would like to dispute the claim from the other party or discard your own claim. You can dispute or discard in the portal. If you don’t dispute or retract within 7 days, your claim will be discarded.
If both users choose to dispute the other user’s claim, we will deactivate both claims until we receive a court order establishing who has the rights or ownership of the content. You may reach out to the other party to resolve the issue directly if appropriate.
Please note that you may be asked to provide a court order which establishes your rights or ownership of the content in the case your claim is disputed. For more information, you can review our
