The Evolved search bar empowers you to find exactly what you’re looking for or get inspiration for new ideas.
Over time you will see different functionalities appear in your search bar as we develop new and more effective ways for you to own your search. Some of these functionalities include:
Use guides to add Pinterest’s most popular search terms to your search. After you search for an idea, you might see suggested terms under your search bar. These terms are “guides” and are designed to help you find what you’re looking for. When you click a guide, you will be taken to a new search with the guide term added to your original search.
You may also see some more specific guides that include a drop-down menu of grouped guide terms to help you refine your search. For example, if you type “Pie recipes” into the search bar, you might see a guide called “Fruits.” Click the drop-down arrow next to the guide to see a list of grouped guide terms. Click one of the guide terms to help refine the search even further.
After you search for an idea, you will see a filters menu below your search bar. Click this menu to be taken to a page where you can select from multiple different content type filters, including all Pins, Boards, Profiles, Videos and Products. When you filter by one of these content types, your results will only show in that content type. For example, when you click “Boards” from the filter menu, the results for your search will only be Boards related to that search.
Use shop-only search to search for products only. After you search for an idea, you might see an option that says “Shop” below your search bar. When you click on this, only shoppable Pins will appear. You can search and then search again without leaving shop mode.

To exit shopping-only search, click on the shop icon next to your search term in the search bar.
Use profiles-only search to search for profiles only. When you search for an idea, you might see an option that says “Profiles'' below your search bar. After you click on this, you’ll be taken to a new search that will show profiles only.

Use Guided Search to search for home decor, to narrow your search results and find information quickly. By entering terms like “home remodeling” or “living room designs,” you’ll be presented with guides which help to refine your search results. Guided Search is currently available in the US, for iPhone and desktop only.
