View your updates

Updates keep you informed about how people are interacting with your Pins and boards, what people you know on Pinterest are saving and creating, and new ideas you might like. 

To view your updates:  
  • Log in to your Pinterest account
  • Click  in the top-right corner of the screen

  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log into your Pinterest account
  • Tap  at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap the Updates tab at the top of the screen
    •
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log into your Pinterest account
  • Tap  at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap the Updates tab at the top of the screen

    View and send messages

    You can receive messages, respond to messages and share Pins and boards with other people on Pinterest.  If you're a teen, you'll have limited options for how you send and receive messages. Learn more about teen safety on Pinterest.

    You can choose who can send you messages and message requests. Learn how to update your message settings.

    View your messages
  • Log in to your Pinterest account
  • Click  in the top-right corner of the screen

  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log into your Pinterest account
  • Tap  at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap the Inbox tab at the top of the screen
    •
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log into your Pinterest account
  • Tap  at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap the Inbox tab at the top of the screen

    Send messages
  • Log in to your Pinterest account
  • Click  in the top-right corner
  • Click 
  • Search contacts and select up to 10 people
  • Write your message at the bottom where it says Send a message
    • Click  to search for ideas 
    • Click   on the bottom-right to react to someone’s message
  • Click  to send your message
    •
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log into your account.
  • Tap  at the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Inbox at the top of the screen.
  • Tap New message then type a name or email into the search bar. You can also tap the profile photo of the person you want to send a message to.
  • Tap Next, then write your message at the bottom where it says Type a message
    • Tap  to search for Pins to send 
    • Tap   at the bottom-right to send a heart
  • Tap   to send your message.

  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log into your account
  • Tap  at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap Inbox at the top of the screen
  • Tap New message
  • Select the person you want to send a message to or search for their name in the search bar above
  • Tap Next
  • Write your message at the bottom where it says Add a message
    • Tap  to search for ideas to send 
    • Tap  on the bottom-right to send a heart
  • Tap Send

    Add replies 

    When a Pin, board or text is shared within a message, you can add a reply. A separate replies messaging thread will open, meaning you can have a dedicated conversation about the specific Pin, board or text in one place.
     

     

    It looks as though you're reading this from a web browser. At the moment, you'll need to use your phone or tablet to add replies. You can see those instructions by clicking Android or iOS above.
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log in to your Pinterest account
  • Tap   at the bottom of your screen
  • Tap Inbox at the top of your screen
  • Open the message with the Pin you want to reply to
  • Tap and hold the Pin and select Reply or tap the reply icon at the left side of the Pin to open your replies
  • Type your reply and tap

  • Tap   at the bottom of your screen
  • Tap Inbox at the top of your screen
  • Open the message with the Pin you want to reply to
  • Tap and hold the Pin and select Reply or tap the reply icon at the left side of the Pin to open your replies
  • Type your reply and tap
