Update your search privacy

Search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo may show your profile or boards in their search results. If you don't want to appear in search results, you can edit your settings to turn on search privacy. If you already appear in a search, you can contact the search provider.

Turn on your search privacy

  1. Click at the top of Pinterest to open your menu
  2. Click Edit settings
  3. Click Privacy and data on the left side of the screen
  4. Under “Search Privacy”, check the box next to "Hide your profile from search engines"
  5. Click Confirm
  6. Click Done
  1. Tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner of the screen
  2. From your profile, tap the Move icon in the top-left corner
  3. Tap Edit settings
  4. Scroll down to the "Privacy" section
  5. Turn on "Search engine privacy"

  1. Tap on your profile picture in the bottom-right corner of the screen
  2. Tap on your profile picture in the top left-corner, then, tap the Move icon in the top-right corner
  3. Tap Privacy & data
  4. Turn on "Search privacy"

We can hide your profile, but we can’t always hide your name if others have saved your Pins. For extra privacy, you can change your name or use secret boards.

When you turn on search privacy, a tag is added to your pages to let search engines know to exclude your profile and boards from search results. We add the tag right away, but you may already have information that's added to search results.

If your profile, name, or photos are appearing in a search outside of Pinterest, you can work with the search engine to request removal:
