Search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo may show your profile or boards in their search results. If you don't want to appear in search results, you can edit your settings to turn on search privacy. If you already appear in a search, you can contact the search provider.

Turn on your search privacy
  • Log into your Pinterest account
  • Click the directional chevron down icon  at the top-right corner to open your menu
  • Click Settings
  • Click Privacy and data at the left side of the screen
  • Under Search Privacy, check the box next to Hide your profile from search engines
  • Click I understand
  • Click Save
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log into your Pinterest account
  • Tap your profile picture at the bottom-right corner
  • Tap  the ellipsis icon at the top-right corner
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Privacy and data
  • Toggle the switch next to Search privacy
  • Your changes will be saved automatically.

  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log into your Pinterest account
  • Tap on your profile picture at the bottom-right corner of the screen
  • Tap the ellipsis icon  at the top-right corner
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Privacy and data
  • Toggle the switch next to Search privacy
  • Tap I understand
  • We can hide your profile, but we can’t always hide your name if others have saved your Pins. For extra privacy, you can change your name or use secret boards.

When you turn on search privacy, a tag is added to your pages to let search engines know to exclude your profile and boards from search results. We add the tag right away, but you may already have information that's added to search results.

If your profile, name, or photos are appearing in a search outside of Pinterest, you can work with the search engine to request removal:
