About the Buyable Pin review process

All merchants on Pinterest go through a review process to make sure their products are safe and appropriate for Pinterest. We review each merchant against our Buyable Pin standards.

Applying for Buyable Pins
When you apply through your shopping platform partner (like Shopify or BigCommerce), we’ll review your shop to make sure what you’re selling meets our Buyable Pin standards. We’ll take a look at your product catalog, website, return policy, profile picture and store name.

We highly recommend reviewing your product catalog before applying for Buyable Pins, as not everything you sell on your website can be sold on Pinterest. Remember, just because you can Pin it doesn’t mean you can sell it.

Waiting for review
Most applications are reviewed within two business days. You’ll want to allow for more time for review during peak times (like holidays). 

If it’s been more than two business days, let us know. Remember, it will take us longer to review your application if you don’t remove policy-violating products beforehand.

Understanding approval status
Once we’ve reviewed your product catalog, we’ll let you know if we approved or rejected your application. You can check the status of your application by logging in your shopping platform partner’s dashboard.

Fixing application rejections
If your application is rejected, you’ll get an email explaining why and what you need to fix. Take a look at our Buyable Pin standards for additional details about our policies.
