Add the Pinterest browser button

The Pinterest browser button makes it easy to save creative ideas from around the web—like a recipe from your favorite food blog or a photo from a travel site. All you have to do is add the Pinterest browser button to your favorite browser, and you're ready to go.

To install the Pinterest browser button in Google Chrome:
  1. Head to our browser button page and click Get our browser button
  2. When prompted, click Add to confirm the installation
After installing, you'll see a Pin It button any time you mouse over an image. Or, click the red P at the top of your browser whenever you find something on the web you want to save.
 
If you find yourself distracted by the hovering Pin It buttons, you can turn them off:
  1. Right-click the P at the top of your browser and click Options
  2. Click Hide hovering Pin It buttons


To install the Pinterest browser button in Mozilla Firefox:
  1. Head to our browser button page and click Get our browser button
  2. If prompted, click allow to confirm the installation
  3. Click Install Now to complete the installation
After installing, click the red P at the top of your browser whenever you find something on the web you want to save.
 
If you find yourself distracted by the hovering Pin It buttons, you can turn them off:
  1. Click the Firefox menu and select Add-ons
  2. Find Pin It Button and choose Preferences
  3. Check the box for Hide hovering Pin It buttons
  4. Restart Firefox


To install the Pinterest browser button in Internet Explorer:
  1. Head to our browser button page and click Get our browser button
  2. Click Run on the yellow banner at the bottom of your browser
  3. If prompted to allow the install, click Yes
  4. You may need to close certain applications, like Internet Explorer. If prompted, select Automatically close the applications and click Next
  5. If you receive an error message with the options to Abort, Retry, or Cancel, manually close Internet Explorer and click Retry
Once the button is installed you will need to make sure that it's visible on your browser. Right click on the top of the Internet Explorer window and check the Command Bar option (if it's not already checked).
 
After installing, click the red P at the top of your browser whenever you find something on the web you want to save.


To install the Pinterest browser button in Safari:
  1. Head to our browser button page and click Get our browser button
  2. Click the Downloads arrow in the top right corner and pick the Pin It Button file
  3. Click Install

  1. From Safari, go to Preferences then Extensions
  2. Click Hide hovering Pin It buttons

If you're using an Android device, you don't even need to intall the browser button! You can Pin from around the web with just a few taps.
 
To Pin from the web on Android:
  1. In your browser, tap the three-dot icon next to the address bar
  2. Tap Share
  3. Tap Add a Pin
If you're using an iPhone on iOS 8, you don't even need to intall the browser button! You can Pin from around the web with just a few taps. If you're on iOS 7 or below, you'll need to install the Pinterest browser button.
 
Pin from the mobile web using iOS 8
Add the Pinterest browser button on iOS 7 and below

To Pin from the mobile web using iOS 8: 
  1. From Safari or Chrome, tap the Share button
  2. Swipe to the left and tap More
  3. Tap to turn on Pinterest
  4. Hold and drag Pinterest up the list if you want to reorder your menu


To add the Pin It button on iOS 7 and below:
  1. Go to http://www.pinterest.com from Safari
  2. Tap the Share icon to the left of the address bar, then tap Bookmark
  3. Change the title from "Pinterest" to "Pin It" then tap Save
  4. Tap the bookmark icon to the right of the address bar
  5. Tap on Edit in the bottom right-hand corner of the box
  6. Then tap the right arrow next to "Pin It"
  7. In the address field, delete http://www.pinterest.com and paste in:

If you're using an iPad on iOS 8, you don't even need to intall the browser button! You can Pin from around the web with just a few taps. If you're on iOS 7 or below, you'll need to install the Pinterest browser button.
 
Pin from the mobile web using iOS 8
Add the Pinterest browser button on iOS 7 and below

To Pin from the mobile web using iOS 8: 
  1. From Safari or Chrome, tap the Share button
  2. Swipe to the left and tap More
  3. Tap to turn on Pinterest
  4. Hold and drag Pinterest up the list if you want to reorder your menu
