Your first and last name are what appear at the top of your profile. We require a first name, but not a last name.
 
To change your first and last names:
  1. From your profile click the bolt button
  2. Scroll down to the Profile section
  3. Enter your correct first name and (if you want) last name
  4. Click Save Settings when finished
We recommend having accurate first and last names - it makes it easier for your friends to find your profile. 

Your profile picture appears at the top of your profile and on your Pins, boards, comments and messages. We support JPG and PNG file types for profile pictures.
 
To change your profile picture:
  1. From your profile click the bolt button
  2. Scroll down to the Profile section
  3. Click Change Picture, then Choose File
  4. Find the file, let it upload, then click Save Settings
Note: Profile pictures must follow our content policies.

Your Pinterest username is used to create your profile's web address. For example, Pinterest has the username 'Pinterest' can be found at pinterest.com/Pinterest.
 
Your username can only be 3-30 characters long and can't have spaces, symbols or punctuation.
 
To find your username when logged in:
  1. Go to your profile (click the person button in the top right corner)
  2. Find your username in the address bar (www.pinterest.com/EXAMPLE)
To find your username when logged out (or if you can't log in):
  1. Search on Pinterest for your name or business name
  2. Or, search on Google for 'Pinterest' and your name or business name (ex: Pinterest Ben Silbermann)
  3. Click on the correct search result
  4. Find your username in the address bar (www.pinterest.com/EXAMPLE)
To change your username:

If you see the message "Oops! Username already taken", you'll need to try a different username. We recommend adding numbers to the end of the username you originally tried.
 
If you don’t use your Pinterest account for a long time, we may make your username available for someone else to use.

The About You section is your space to tell visiting people who you are. You’ve got 160 characters to tell everyone about... you!
 
To change your About You section:
  1. From your profile click the bolt button
  2. Scroll down to the Profile section
  3. Enter your message in the About You field
  4. Click Save Settings when finished

Your location tells other people where you’re from. Leave it blank, or represent your town with pride.
 
To change your location:
  1. From your profile click the bolt button
  2. Scroll down to the Profile section
  3. Enter your location in the Location field
  4. Click Save Settings when finished
We highly recommend that your location be no more specific than the city you live in. “San Francisco” is good - “123 Main St” is too much.

Adding a website tells people where they can find more of your fabulous stuff. Once you add the website, you’ll need to verify it.
 
To add your website:
  1. From your profile click the bolt button
  2. Scroll down to the Profile section
  3. Enter your website URL in the Website field and click Verify Website
