We've made a change to simplify your notifications in Pinterest. Everything now lives in the News tab. There you’ll see updates about your Pins and boards, what your friends are up to, and what’s new for you on Pinterest. These notifications are grouped together in stories, which you can click or tap on to see more details. Read more about what's new and let us know what you think.
 
Changing your notifications options lets you control how often you hear about what’s going on.

You can choose whether to receive notifications from everyone, or just people you follow. Pick what’s most helpful for how you use Pinterest. 
 
To change your notification audience:
  1. From your profile click the bolt button
  2. Scroll down to the Notifications section
  3. Choose whether to Get notifications from everyone or Only people you follow
  4. Click Save Settings when finished

NOTE: These settings only apply to You notifications, and don't affect News notifications.

When you have email notifications turned on, you’ll get an email when you get a Pinterest notification. You can pick and choose which types of notifications to get.
 
To change your email notification options:
  1. From your profile click the bolt button
  2. Scroll down to the Notifications section
  3. Toggle the By email setting to your desired preference
  4. If Yes, you can use the additional toggles to choose what types of email notifications to get
  5. Click Save Settings when finished

When you have push notifications turned on, you’ll get a notification on your mobile device when you get a Pinterest notification. You can pick and choose which types of notifications to get. 
 
To change your push notification options:
  1. From your profile click the bolt button
  2. Scroll down to the Notifications section
  3. Click Edit push notification settings
  4. Use the checkboxes to select which types of push notifications to get
These settings only apply to the official Pinterest app. You may not see this option on the web if you’ve never logged into Pinterest from a mobile device using the app.
 

News gives you a snapshot of what’s up with your Facebook and Twitter friends, and the different people and boards you follow.
 
Right now, there’s no way to control what appears in your News feed. Your account, profile and notification settings do not control what happens in News.
 
If you’d like to stop seeing news related to your Facebook or Twitter friends, you can disconnect your social media account.
 

 

Tips and Troubleshooting

Keep in mind, changing your notification options isn’t immediate. For example, if you turn off your email notifications, you may receive a few more emails before your changes take affect.
 
Give it one to two days. If you’re still having trouble, let us know.
