Definitions
- Account info means basic account information such as user-provided email address, name, username, date/time of account creation, and IP addresses used to access Pinterest. It doesn’t include content a user posts to Pinterest.
- Civil request means a civil litigation demand for account info (e.g. civil subpoena). We’re prohibited by law from providing content in response to a civil request.
- Content means the content of communications users have made with or on Pinterest. This includes a user’s Pins and Pin descriptions, comments, board names, likes, and who a user follows.
- Federal means United States federal law enforcement (e.g. FBI) or other federal agencies (e.g. FTC).
- Law enforcement means federal, state and local law enforcement (i.e. city/state police, FBI).
- Legal process means any warrant, subpoena or other request from a government agency.
- non-US means non-United States federal, state or local law enforcement or agencies.
- National security request means any national security letters and orders issued under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
- Other means other law enforcement requests such as wiretap orders, pen registers, trap and trace, and emergency disclosure requests.
- Protective order means a: (i) a court order issued in accordance with 18 U.S.C. § 2705(b); or (ii) an applicable state statute prohibiting or delaying notice.
- State/local means United States state or local law enforcement (e.g. state/county attorneys, sheriffs, local police) and judicial bodies (e.g. state grand juries to county magistrates).
