Reset your password

If you forget your password, you can request to reset it. If you’re already logged into your Pinterest account, you can change your password from your settings.

Note: If your password reset link is not working in your regular browser, try resetting it in a private Chrome, Firefox or Safari window. To open a private window, click File at the top of your screen, then click New Incognito Window for Chrome or New Private Window for Firefox and Safari.

 

Steps to reset your password

 

  • Go to the Pinterest password reset page
  • Enter your email, name, or username to find your account, then click Search
  • Click This is me next to your account to send a password reset link to your email inbox
  • Check the email address connected to your account for a password reset email
  • From the email, click Reset password and enter your new password
  • Click Change password
  • Note: To keep your account safe, we don't allow you to reuse any recently used passwords.

  • Open your mobile browser and go to the Pinterest password reset page
  • Search for your email, name, or username to find your account
  • Tap This is me next to your account to send a password reset link to your email inbox
  • Check the email address connected to your account for a password reset email
  • From the email, tap Reset password and enter your new password
  • Tap Change password
  • Note: To keep your account safe, we don't allow you to reuse any recently used passwords.

    Note: If you can no longer access the email account associated with your Pinterest account, then you’ll be unable to reset your password. You can create a new account and then save Pins from your old account to your new one.

     

     

    Tips for setting up a strong password:
  • Use a unique password that's hard to guess.
  • Use a combination of numbers and symbols.
  • Use a password that you'll be using only for your Pinterest account.
  • Keep your password secret. We'll never ask for your password by email, instant message or mobile device.
  • Learn about additional ways to protect your account.

     

    Change your password
  • Log in to your Pinterest account
  • Click the directional chevron down icon  at the top-right of your screen
  • Click Settings
  • Click Account management at the left-side navigation
  • Next to the Password field, click Change
  • Enter your old password followed by your new password
    • If you cannot remember your old password, click Forgot it? and check the email associated with your Pinterest account to reset your password
  • Click Change password
  • Click Done
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log in to your Pinterest account
  • Tap your profile picture at the bottom-right of your screen to open your profile
  • Tap the ellipsis icon at the top-right of your screen
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Account management
  • Tap Password
  • Enter your old password followed by your new password
  • Tap Done to save your changes
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log in to your Pinterest account
  • Tap your profile picture at the bottom-right of your screen to open your profile
  • Tap the ellipsis icon  at the top-right of your screen
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Account management
  • Tap Password
  • Enter your old password followed by your new password
  • Tap Done to save your changes
