Trouble with the Pinterest browser button

If you run into a problem with the Pinterest browser button, try the troubleshooting steps below. Make sure you’re using one of our recommended browsers—Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

Note that if you're browsing in private mode (like Chrome's Incognito), the browser button won't work.

Here are some quick fixes to issues with the Pinterest browser button:
  1. Uninstall and reinstall the button. Remove the extension from your browser, and reinstall it from the Pinterest page.
  2. Clear your cache and cookies. This removes any temporary files that might be causing issues. Learn how to clear your cache and cookies.
  3. Enable Javascript in your browser. Pinterest relies on Javascript to show you images, buttons and more—you’ll need to have it enabled to use Pinterest. Learn how to enable Javascript.
  4. Update your browser. While we support older versions, you’ll have the best experience on the latest version of your browser. Check your browser version.
  5. Disable other extensions, or browse in private mode. Extensions like Adblock (ad-blocking), Ghostery (anti-tracking) and Avast (virus-scanning) can disable elements on the page, and often interact poorly with Pinterest. Try disabling extensions one-by-one to see if an extension is interfering.
