With a business account, you can bulk upload up to 200 images or videos with the Pinterest bulk creation tool. To do this, you’ll upload a spreadsheet with information about your content. 

For help creating your spreadsheet, please use our sample spreadsheet and review the formatting best practices below. 

Upload your spreadsheet
  • Export your spreadsheet as a comma-separated value file (or .csv file)
  • Log in to your Pinterest business account
  • Click the directional chevron down icon at the top-right corner of Pinterest to open your menu
  • Click Settings
  • Click Bulk create Pins from the left-side navigation
  • Drag and drop your .csv file into the box or click the directional arrow up circle icon to upload your file
  • After your spreadsheet and files are uploaded, we’ll send you a confirmation email. We may also contact you if you need to review or reformat anything.

    Spreadsheet formatting best practices

    Make sure the column names in your spreadsheet meet these guidelines.

  • 100 characters maximum
  • Sweet Potato Hummus
    Media URL (required)
  • This must be a publicly available link to the file itself (typically ending with MP4, PNG or JPEG)

    Pinterest board (required)
  • The title of the Pinterest board your content should be saved to
  • To specify a section, include the section title after the slash (see examples)
  • If the board or section doesn’t exist, it will be created for you

    Thumbnail (required for video only)
  • This can be either a timestamp format (mm:ss), the number of seconds (ss) into the video file, or a publicly available URL to an image file
  • If the thumbnail is an image URL, the aspect ratio of the image must match the ratio of the video
  • Leave this column blank for image uploads

    Publish date
  • If this timestamp is in the future, your Pin will be scheduled to publish on the specific date
  • To publish at a certain time, you’ll need to add UTC time to your date (see example 2)
  • If you do not specify a time, your Pin will publish at the same time of day as when you uploaded your .csv file
  • Leave the publish date empty if you want your Pins to be published immediately
  • If the date is not formatted correctly, you’ll receive an error and the Pin will not be published
