Use the bulk editor

Bulk editor is a tool that helps to efficiently create and manage thousands of ad campaigns. Download a CSV file template, input the data for your campaigns, and upload the spreadsheet to the bulk editor to implement all of your changes at once.

Create ads with bulk editor

  1. Click Ads in the top left corner of Pinterest and select ‘Bulk Editor’ or go to ads.pinterest.com/bulk_editor
  2. Click Download sample sheet to download your template, which will serve as a model for how to set up your own sheet
  3. To create a new entity (campaign, ad group, or Promoted Pin), add a new row in the sheet and select 'Create' as the desired action in column A - you can leave the object IDs blank, as these haven't been created yet
  4. Once complete, click Choose a file to upload your bulk editor sheet
  5. If you're creating Promoted Pins, click Choose images to upload the images or video for your ad creative
  6. Click Preview to see a summary table of how many entities you’re creating
  7. Click Process

Edit existing ads with bulk editor

  1. Click Ads in the top left corner of Pinterest and select ‘Bulk Editor’ or go to ads.pinterest.com/bulk_editor
  2. Click Download existing campaigns to download your existing data
  3. Select the campaign objective, status, name, and date range for the data you want to view
  4. Click Export
  5. View the "Download" tab in your History of changes to see your download status and click Download results when the download is complete
  6. When filling out the sheet with changes to your existing entities, be sure to include "Edit" as the action in column A - we'll ignore any rows without an action in column A
  7. To create a new entity (campaign, ad group, or Promoted Pin), add a new row in the sheet and include Create as the desired action in column A. Be sure to reference the parent ID in the bulk template you're editing and leave the other fields for that parent object blank.
  8. Once complete, click Choose a file to upload your bulk editor sheet
  9. If you're editing Promoted Pins, click Choose images to upload the images for your ad creative
  10. Click Preview to see a summary table of how many entities you’re creating
  11. Click Process

View the “History of changes” table to see if your upload was successful. If the status of the upload switches to “Succeeded”, your sheet was processed without any errors. If the status shows “Errors”, download the results and view the “Status” (column AN) to see what changes need to be made. Make your changes and re-upload – we’ll ignore any rows without an “Action” designated (column A). Note that upload files are stored for 30 days, and download files for just 1 day.
