The Bulk editor is a tool that helps you create and manage thousands of Pinterest ad campaigns at once. To get started, download a CSV file template, input the data for your campaigns, and upload the spreadsheet to the bulk editor to make all of your changes at once.

Format your bulk editor sheet

It’s important that you correctly set up your bulk editor spreadsheet otherwise your upload may fail. As you work, make sure that your bulk editor spreadsheet follows the below parameters.

Note: The CSV file can only be downloaded in English and the uploaded values must also be in English. We can’t accept other languages at this time.

  • Don’t edit rows 1 and 2. Rows 1 and 2 in every bulk sheet are reference rows that include a description of the columns, eligible parameters and special formatting required for each entry.
  • Save your .CSV file as a CSV UTF-8 file to ensure that all values in the template are properly formatted.
  • Enter an action in column A for every row. If there’s no action specified, the row will be ignored when the bulk editor sheet is uploaded.
  • Enter campaign dates with brackets as [YY-MM-DD] to prevent the date from reformatting.
  • To remove the values for spend caps and ad group end dates, replace the existing values with CLEAR.

Create ads with bulk editor

Once you've formatted your template, you can create ads and campaigns with it.

  1. Log into your Pinterest Business account.
  2. From the top of the screen, click Ads, then click Bulk editor.
  3. Click Download sample sheet to download your template onto your desktop. You can use customized templates to include fields that are necessary for the specific action you’re taking.
  4. To create a new entity (campaign, ad group, or ad) in your spreadsheet, add a new row in the sheet and enter “CREATE” as the desired action in column A. Leave the object IDs blank as these will be auto-generated when you run your campaign.
  5. Once you’ve filled out your spreadsheet, click Upload Template from the left-hand navigation to upload your bulk editor sheet.
  6. If you're creating ads, upload the images or video for your ad creative in the Upload media section.
  7. Click Upload in the bottom-right of your screen.

Edit existing ads with bulk Editor

    • To create a new entity (campaign, ad group, or ad), add a new row in the sheet and include “CREATE” as the desired action in column A. Be sure to reference the parent ID in the bulk template you're editing and leave the other fields for that parent object blank.
  5. Once you’ve filled out your spreadsheet, go to your Pinterest Business account
  6. From the top of the screen, click Ads, then click Bulk Editor.
  7. Click Upload template from the left-side navigation.
    • If you're editing ads, upload images or video for your ad creative in the Upload media section
  8. Click Upload in the bottom-right of your screen.

Bulk sheet review process

Once you’ve submitted your bulk editor spreadsheet, you can monitor its status to see if it was successfully uploaded.

  1. Log into your Pinterest Business account
  2. From the top of the screen, click Ads, then click Bulk editor
  3. Click History of changes from the left-side navigation

If the status of the upload changes to Succeeded, your sheet was processed without any errors.

If the upload status changes to ERRORS or FAILED, click See details to see what changes need to be made, then click Download results to make the changes. Make your changes and re-upload your sheet. We’ll ignore any rows without an action in column A.
